The Possible Dream

To pass the unpassable law,

To get the ungettable gift,

To roll the unrollable I-RA,

To run where the taxed dare not go.

To flip the unflippable trust,

To CARE and lobby from afar,

To pledge when your alms are too puny,

To reach the untaxable star!

This is my quest, to follow that star

To go after largess no matter how far;

To fight for the right without question or pause

To be willing to march into hell for a legacy clause!

And I know, if I’ll only be true to this glorious bill,

That my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I’m drawing my will,

And the world will be better for this:

That one man, scorned and covered with scars,

Still strove with his last ounce of courage.

To reach the untaxable stars.
